What’s On at our 2026 Festival

Week 1 at The Princess Theatre, Princess Street, Burnham-on-Sea, TA8 1EH

Admission is by purchase of a £3 festival wristband which entitles you to watch the whole day’s programme (exceptions are Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. See details below)

Monday 9 March - Speech & Drama

Poetry recitals by local school children and The Stuart Adams Memorial Trophy competition for Original Poetry 9:30am - 3pm

Original Poetry, Performance Poetry, Original Short Stories and solo acting from 5:30 pm

Tuesday 10 March - Speech & Drama

Groups of local school children competing for The Dorothy Reaney Trophy for Choral Speech, Classic Poetry recitals by local school children and individual children’s poetry recitals 9:30am - 3pm

Wednesday 11 March - Dance

Primary School dance groups, dancing in a wide range of genres from ballet to street dance by children aged 8 and under. 10am - 6pm

Thursday 12 March - Dance

Dancing in a wide range of genres from ballet to street dance by children aged 9 - 10 years. 9:30am - 6:45pm with daily wristband entry

From 7pm Classical and Cabaret group dance performances by children 10 years and under - tickets for this session should be purchased via The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre website or Box Office on 01278 784464.

Friday 13 March - Dance

Dancing in a wide range of genres from classical ballet to street dance by children aged 11 - 12 years. 10am - 6pm

Saturday 14 March - Dance

Dancing in a wide range of genres from classical ballet to street dance by children aged 13 - 14 years. 9:30 - 6:30pm with daily wristband entry

From 6:45 pm Classical and Cabaret group dance performances by children 14 years and under - tickets for this session should be purchased via The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre website or Box Office on 01278 784464.

Sunday 15 March - Dance

Dancing in a wide range of genres from classical ballet to street dance by dancers aged 15-18 years. 9:30 - 5pm with daily wristband entry

From 5:15pm - 6:45pm Classical and Cabaret group dance performances by dancers 18 years and under - tickets for this session should be purchased via The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre website or Box Office on 01278 784464.

From 7pm Adult dance solos, duets and groups. Admission by purchase of daily wristband

Week 2 at St John’s Church, Church Street, Highbridge, TA9 3HS

Admission is by purchase of a £3 festival wristband which entitles you to watch the whole day’s programme

Tuesday 17 March - Music

The Piano Day from 10am - 1:15pm 2:15pm - 4:30pm and 6pm - 8pm.

Wednesday 18 March - Music

School choirs from 10am - 12 noon. The Dorothy Reaney Trophy for Music and Instrumentalists from 2:30pm - 5pm.

Music Open Mic from 6pm. An eclectic mix of instrumentalists and vocalists - a great evening of music making!

Thursday 19 March - Music

School choirs from 10am - 11:45am. School instrumental groups from 12:45pm - 2:15pm.

Adult instrumentalists and groups, including King Alfred Concert Band from 6pm - 8:30pm.

Friday 20 March - Music

Children’s vocal solos and duets from 10am - 12:15pm. Adult vocal solos and duets from 6pm - 8:15pm.

Saturday 21 March - Music

Adult vocal groups and choirs from 10:30am - 11:30am and 1:15pm - 3:45pm.
